Carter Vargo is a seasoned construction executive with over 20 years of experience leading large-scale commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects. Known for his strategic vision, ownership mentality, and ability to build high-performing teams, Carter excels at driving transformational growth and operational excellence.

Carter was instrumental in building and expanding the general contracting division of a leading national real estate development firm, overseeing the construction of over 3,000 units across four states during his tenure. Under his leadership, the division grew to 130+ professionals, providing consistent cash flow and strengthening the firm’s vertically integrated platform, supporting its continued growth into the fastest-growing company in Minnesota in 2023.

After experiencing significant growth at his previous company, Carter recognized a gap in the market for a true partnership between owners and general contractors. Despite sharing many of the same goals, these groups often lacked trust in one another. Carter saw firsthand that the in-house model worked exceptionally well because everyone was aligned with the end goal. Motivated by this insight, he founded Lowen with the intent of bridging this trust gap by delivering operational excellence and fostering collaborative relationships that ensure successful project outcomes.
